Governance & Structure :
The institution shall establish an apex-level R&D Advisory Committee (RDAC), mandated to provide strategic guidance on all matters related to research and development. The RDAC shall also be responsible for approving the institution’s annual R&D plan.
- Meeting Frequency: The RDAC shall meet once every year to review and approve ongoing and planned R&D activities, suggest corrective actions, and provide directions for future initiatives.
- Composition:
Experts from academia, industry, and government research (one each as members)
• Head of Institution (HOI), Chief Mentor of the R&D Advisory Committee (Member)
• Member(Secretary) R&D.
An R&D Cell shall be established within the institution to serve as the hub of research, development, and innovation activities. The R&D Advisory Committee shall have the following responsibilities:
- Facilitate R&D activities across the institution, including registering researchers on the institutional portal.
- Maintain and update information related to research papers, projects, funding opportunities, collaborations, industry linkages, training, and outreach activities.
- Serve as the nodal point for liaison with AMP , external institutions, industry partners and other stake holders.
- Support departments in organizing R&D-related events, including Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) awareness and filing.
- Assist researchers in preparing and submitting proposals for external and internal funding.
- Facilitate review of internally supported activities and proposals through a Standing Committee constituted by the HOI. This committee shall establish objective review norms.
- Oversee adherence to research ethics across all projects and initiatives.
- Provide support for documentation processes, including drafting Memoranda of Understanding(MoUs)and facilitating IP filing.
- Submit regular reports to the RDAC and AMP on institutional research progress and achievements.
- Initiate the process of policy revision whenever required to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Serve as the Secretariat for the RDAC.
